Loch Lomond Wedding (Cameron House) - Claire and Ian

Loch Lomond Wedding

Claire and Ian's wedding on Loch Lomond was a crazy day and lots of fun. It was an intimate affair with both the bride and groom getting ready at Cameron House, before making their way down to the marina and climbing aboard the Silver Dolphin boat. Once on board we sailed up to a lovely quiet spot on the Loch for the ceremony to take place.

Claire and Ian had come over from Ireland to enjoy some wonderful Scottish scenery and sunshine. As you can probably see from the pictures this couple were a brilliant laugh and the 'craic' was flowing all day. Relaxed, personal and more fun that it probably should have been. The perfect Loch Lomond Wedding !

I am a huge fan of Dave and Clair's. Its felt like they have been friends for ages, ever since they first sought me out at a wedding fayre right up until delivery of their album. Ardkinglas has also been a real find for me. If there was any disappointment from this wedding it was that the weather was "dramatic" on the day and did not allow us to fully utilise the amazing grounds. In fact due to the weather closing in, time running out and our affection for the couple, we returned to the wedding, unsheduled, after dinner to make sure we nailed some great shots. I really hope to return to shoot and Arkinglas House wedding soon
To carry on the mutual love affair, this is what Clair said about our service :
Stuart well exceeded all our expectations as a photographer, we cannot speak any more highly of them.  He kept in touch throughout, listened to our suggestions and worked with us on finding the best solutions.  The outcome being the most stunning wedding album we could ever have wished for.  Nothing was too much trouble, the guests loved Stuart and his banter and his wonderful assistant Gillian was an absolute gem on the day, helping me get around in the rain without messing up my hair or getting my dress wet and muddy!  Cannot put into words how impressed we were, such incredible talent, and a true professional.  Always organised and efficient, had everything in hand, making it as stress-free as possible for us.  We’re so very glad we found Stuart, as I don’t think we could have found a better photographer out there.  It really was a true pleasure to have worked with these guys, and we couldn’t be any happier with the photos we now have to cherish for a lifetime.

Lochside House Wedding - Martin and Lynsey

Lochside House Wedding

We were really spoiled with some brilliant couples last year and Martin and Lynsey were no exception. Their Lochside House wedding was one of the very few times I have been at this cracking venue and stayed dry ! We started the day at the grooms parents house for a lovely wee change. It was so nice to see Martin getting ready and prepared at his mum and dads before making his way to the church. Because the couple had planned out their day really well, it meant we had the opportunity to then get to Lynseys house and catch her preparations too.

After the ceremony it was back to the award winning Lochside House. A venue that always gives you brilliant skys and dramatic clouds. Lynsey and Martin were absolutely terrific to work with. Nothing was too much bother and the shots we came away with were just fantastic. Having planned out the day really well it meant that at no point was there a mad rush and the wedding ran like clockwork. It was a real pleasure to be involved with such a great couple on their big day. Thank you Lynsey and Martin

Mar Hall Wedding - Evie and Stevie

Mar Hall Wedding

I know I am never supposed to or allowed to pick favourite weddings...... but on a completely unrelated topic I must share with you some images from Evie and Stevie's Mar Hall wedding. Evie is one of those amazing people who you chat with for 5 minutes and feel like you have known forever. She pretty much organised her wedding herself as poor Stevie works abroad. One of the most amazing things about this wedding was the strong bonds in the family. Not just Evie and Stevie, separated by the Atlantic ocean but between Evie, her son, and in fact all the guests who attended. This is a well-loved couple and (as I said) 5 minutes in their company and you feel the same way.

Evie really wasnt too entertained with the notion of getting her picture taken. But I have to say that I think she was one of the most beautiful brides we have ever photographed. She completely glowed all day and her dress was absolutely gorgeous. Stevie, who very kindly for the photographer, broke his wrist the week before the wedding also looked very smart. As a Scottish wedding photographer it is always a refreshing treat when the groom wears a smart suit rather than a kilt (I know, blasphemy!) I will leave the final word on the photography and this fantastic day to Evie.

Boy, did I get lucky with Stuart and his beautiful side kick, Gillian, from 1500 Photography!

Stuart came to visit me before the big day to get an idea of what I wanted/liked and a wee bit about our families. Any special requests for photos were duly entertained with nothing too much trouble for them. Stuart and Gillian took some really fantastic pictures: they even turned up at Mar Hall with a vintage umbrella so that we could have some photos taken outside in the rain! Professional, efficient and just downright fantastic people, who just happen to be at the top of their game when it comes to taking fabulous and innovative photos! Without hesitation, I would recommend 1500 to use as your wedding photographer!

Thanks, guys, you were just amazing!

Buchanan Arms Wedding - Rutendo and Frank

Buchanan Arms Wedding

What a fantastic experience this was. What an amazing wedding. My first Zimbabwean wedding and my goodness, Rutendo and Franks wedding at the Buchanan Arms was simply sensational. The colours, the dancing and the singing, oh my, the singing was incredible. The day itself in Drymen was an absolute washout. The rain poured down and yet the moment we stepped inside the Buchanan Arms it didnt seem to matter at all. I have never been to a wedding before with such an up tempo, upbeat group of guests.

We started with Rutendo getting ready in a very busy room with bridesmaids, well wishers and friends are bustling about the room. The we caught up with the very dapper Frank and his attendants before the wedding ceremony took place. A beautiful service with one very memorable kiss (Frank 'peeling off' his glasses was a real touch of class)

Then, almost unbelievably, Rutendo suggested we stick with Plan A and head to Balmaha for the pictures. When I pointed out the downpour outside, Rutendo shrugged her shoulders and said 'we have umbrellas' - Definitely my kind of bride !! Once back at the Buchanan Arms, Frank got changed into his 'evening suit' and the celebrations continued. I have a short audio clip on my phone of all of the guests singing at dinner. It is one of the most beautiful and happy songs I've ever heard sung at a wedding. It is tremendous. I urge you, if you ever get the chance to attend a Zimbabwean wedding, jump at the opportunity.

Finally can I say how happy I am for the couple themselves. Rutendo and Frank were absolutely wonderful to work with and showed real commitment to getting the best possible pictures in the worst possible conditions. Thank you both xx
