Loch Lomond Arms Wedding

Loch Lomond Arms Wedding - Zoe and Andy

Another Loch Lomond Arms Wedding, another top couple ! Zoe and Andy's wedding had a beautiful nautical theme to it and boasted some of the best table decorations and seating plan ideas I've ever seen. With this wedding I was lucky enough to catch the groom getting ready at the Luss cottages behind the Lomond Arms before cutting down into the village and catching Zoes finishing touches. I can think of fewer brides who were as reticent about getting their pictures taken as Zoe, but she braved the camera lens and I think the results are fantastic. She looks wonderful!

We shot all of our formal groups out on Luss pier. It was the first time I had done that and the results were stunning (although the temperature was a real test for the bridesmaids). As you can see from the shot below, we had tried this out before, at Emma's Loch Lomond Arms wedding. This time around we had some really heavy rain which if anything improves on the picture. Who'd have thought out - photographer grateful for the rain!

This concludes our wee hatrick at the Loch Lomond Arms. As is typical after shooting there 3 weeks in a row, I havent been back since. However, it is a venue that I really enjoyed so hopefully we will get back there very soon. Congratulations again to Andy and Zoe x

Loch Lomond Arms Wedding

Loch Lomond Arms Wedding - Kirsty and Paul

Our second Loch Lomond Arms wedding was for Kirsty and Paul. However I dont think this weddings could have been more different from the last.  This time both the ceremony and reception were held at the Loch Lomond Arms and the weather was a little kinder to us than with Emma's wedding. Again with this  wedding being a little later in the year, we had suggested wellies for the short walk into Luss. I am so glad we did as although the dappling sun looks beautiful it was very soggy underfoot. That beautiful shot of Kirsty and Paul by the stream could only have been accomplished with the forethought that had gone into the pictures. Kirtsy has a wicked sense of humour and we got along famously although she did scare me a little by testing how far into Loch Lomond her wellingtons would take her !

There were so many lovely shots from this wedding. Not least the cutting of the (teetering) cake shot which brought on a little panic from the wedding cordinator !! Anyway, enough of me, here are a few words from Kirsty on her experience with 1500
From the very first meeting with Stuart, we knew instantly that he was the right photographer for us.  He had a similar sense of humour which put us at ease and his amazing natural photography style was exactly what we wanted to capture our relaxed day. Stuart knew I was not keen on having my pictures taken but after a few clicks of the camera (and a couple of drinks) it felt like the most natural thing ever.  In fact our favourite part of our entire day was having our pictures taken as we were able to relax and have a bit of a laugh away from the craziness of the whole event. Our finished pictures are nothing short of astounding…who knew we could look so good!  I can’t stop looking at them.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Stuart to future brides and grooms!!  First class service throughout!!

Loch Lomond Arms Wedding - Emma and David

Loch Lomond Arms Wedding

Emma and Davids Loch Lomond arms wedding was my first visit to this lovely venue situated at the top of Luss 'high st'. What a great couple Emma and David are, there were fewer more beautiful brides than Emma and fewer cuter page-boys than the couple's son Ben. We started off as we always do with some bridal prep shots at the Loch Lomond Arms before making our way down to Luss Church. During the ceremony the minister got a little mixed up and tried to marry the best man to the bride. There was much hilarity but thankfully the right people were eventually married !

Once the ceremony was over we took Emma and David down to the shore at Loch Lomond and onto Luss pier. I have to say that Emma was amazing braving the cold to get such amazing shots.....especially as in all the shots of the couple around the Loch Emma is wearing her wellies !! Once back to the Loch Lomond Arms we saw how fantastically the room had been set up. The couple had really put a lot of thought into how to dress essentially a bare room. It looked fabulous. After the first dance, my last act of cruelty to the poor bride was to ask if she fancied stepping outside for a final shot in the rain. I am delighted to say that Emma agreed and the resulting shot is terrific. It was a shot that I would repeat at this venue again, except the next time, it was really coming down. A tremendous couple who were so much fun and such a great laugh. Thank you both.

Loch Lomond Wedding (Cameron House) - Claire and Ian

Loch Lomond Wedding

Claire and Ian's wedding on Loch Lomond was a crazy day and lots of fun. It was an intimate affair with both the bride and groom getting ready at Cameron House, before making their way down to the marina and climbing aboard the Silver Dolphin boat. Once on board we sailed up to a lovely quiet spot on the Loch for the ceremony to take place.

Claire and Ian had come over from Ireland to enjoy some wonderful Scottish scenery and sunshine. As you can probably see from the pictures this couple were a brilliant laugh and the 'craic' was flowing all day. Relaxed, personal and more fun that it probably should have been. The perfect Loch Lomond Wedding !

Buchanan Arms Wedding - Rutendo and Frank

Buchanan Arms Wedding

What a fantastic experience this was. What an amazing wedding. My first Zimbabwean wedding and my goodness, Rutendo and Franks wedding at the Buchanan Arms was simply sensational. The colours, the dancing and the singing, oh my, the singing was incredible. The day itself in Drymen was an absolute washout. The rain poured down and yet the moment we stepped inside the Buchanan Arms it didnt seem to matter at all. I have never been to a wedding before with such an up tempo, upbeat group of guests.

We started with Rutendo getting ready in a very busy room with bridesmaids, well wishers and friends are bustling about the room. The we caught up with the very dapper Frank and his attendants before the wedding ceremony took place. A beautiful service with one very memorable kiss (Frank 'peeling off' his glasses was a real touch of class)

Then, almost unbelievably, Rutendo suggested we stick with Plan A and head to Balmaha for the pictures. When I pointed out the downpour outside, Rutendo shrugged her shoulders and said 'we have umbrellas' - Definitely my kind of bride !! Once back at the Buchanan Arms, Frank got changed into his 'evening suit' and the celebrations continued. I have a short audio clip on my phone of all of the guests singing at dinner. It is one of the most beautiful and happy songs I've ever heard sung at a wedding. It is tremendous. I urge you, if you ever get the chance to attend a Zimbabwean wedding, jump at the opportunity.

Finally can I say how happy I am for the couple themselves. Rutendo and Frank were absolutely wonderful to work with and showed real commitment to getting the best possible pictures in the worst possible conditions. Thank you both xx

Loch Lomond Waterfront Wedding - Nicola and David

Loch Lomond Waterfront Wedding

A complete change of scene for our next wedding, David and Nicola's Loch Lomond Waterfront Wedding, took us over to Balmaha. We dont get over to the east side of Loch Lomond as often as we'd like so any opportunity shoot there is grabbed. It helps if you have a terrific couple to work with too. I have to say that the walk from the lodges where the bride and groom get prepared - down to the loch side, is probably one of the most dramatic walks 'down the aisle' you could ever ask for. I love it.

I was also really impressed with the marquee set up at The Waterfront, giving us an outdoor wedding, yet keeping us sheltered for the typical Scottish summer weather. The Rev Ian Miller officiated the wedding and was in typical great form keeping the guests laughing and conducting the ceremony with his usual mixture of respect and humour. However top plaudits must go to Nicola and Dave who, despite a little inclement weather, braved the conditions and gave us some truly memorable pictures by the lochside. We thought that Nicola looked absolutely terrific as did the whole wedding party. The attention to detail in co ordinating the groomsmen and bridesmaids was great to see. Dave absolutely nailed it with his all grey kilt and the ladies looked sensational in ....... dark pink? cerese? fuchsia? I don't know what the colour is called - I just know that girls looked incredible !!
