Cameron House Wedding Photography - Lissa and Guy

Cameron House Wedding Photography

More Cameron House Wedding Photography for you to enjoy. This time with Lissa and Guy. One of my absolute favourite weddings from last year with an awesome couple. We started off this time (for a little change) with the boys. We met up with Guy and the groomsmen in the Great Scot Bar in Cameron House before checking in on Lissa and catching her finishing touches. After a very emotional ceremony, with beautiful readings given by both mothers, it was onto the formal pictures. You can see from the selection below just how much fun everything about this wedding was. Lissa, Guy, the bridal party and all the guests were just so much fun to work with.

Lissa looked absolutely sensation. Perfect dress, hair and make up. And although an Englishman I think Guy carried the kilt off with aplomb, infact better than many Scots would!  One wee thing about this wedding. As I am sure you already know I often shoot at Cameron House. However with Lissa and Guy we pushed ourselves to create more different and varied shots. Every time we visit this location we are looking for another angle or shot. Lissa was inspirational and provided us with the stunning door shot above and this shot below is one I had been wanting to do for ages. I am delighted that it popped up in the Scottish Wedding Directory shortly afterwards. I cannot praise this couple highly enough - I love them !

Sherbrooke Castle Wedding - Lesley and Ross

Sherbrooke Castle Wedding

I know I keep saying how nice my couples are but really, Lesley and Ross are such a great couple it was a total joy to photograph their Sherbrooke Castle Wedding. It was also great to return to a church I hadn't visited since my Fine Lines days, Houston and Killellan church, a magnificent old church in Houston. However we started the day at Sherbrooke Castle with Lesley's 'finishing touches' shots. Just those last few details of buttoning the dress, adding the jewellery and then the beautiful finished bride. To me it always marks the start of a stunning album. After the ceremony we use the area behind the church for our formal groups then we took a little detour to an area just next to Ross's house. To be honest at first glance it was a kind of 'nothing' area where people would walk their dog or take a Sunday stroll. However once we got down to the riverside this lovely scene opened out in front of us (shot 5) - amazing. Full credit must go to Ross who had always wanted to come here for pictures and which proved to be a great find.

Just as we were leaving Houston the weather started to turn a little for the worse but we were lucky and arrived at Sherbrooke in good time to get some more cracking images of the couple and (of course) a full group shot of all the guests. This 90% of the time means the photographer (me) clambering out of a bedroom window in an undignified fashion with a camera and Sherbrooke is no exception. I swear these windows are getting smaller as I get older...... However the results are always well worth while

Moorpark House Wedding - Janet and Frank

Moorpark House Wedding

Janet and Franks Moorpark House Wedding was a very very memorble day which the couple made sure ended with a bang! I cant begin to tell you how much I had been looking forward to shooting Janet and Franks wedding. Janet, you see, loves to talk. I dont think I have ever clocked up more hours on the phone with the bride before a wedding than I have with Janet. She is a wonderful lady and on her wedding day she looked an absolute knock out. With everything taking place at Moorpark House it meant that everybody was where they were meant to be, and the traffic issues which affected our last wedding blogged, didnt arise. It was a simple job then to nip up to the brides room and get all the preparation picures before the ceremony. A lovely humanist ceremony was the order of the day and possibly the only tiny hiccup on the day was the priceless expression on Franks face as he tried (and tried!) to get Janets ring onto her finger.

After our formal group shots we managed to steal the couple away for some wonderfully romantic shots in and around the Moorpark grounds. I am really warming to Moorpark and think that it is quickly going to become one of Scotlands top wedding venues. Soon after dinner it was time for the main event. A surprise fireworks display for the guests. There are not many things that still make you 'oh and ah' as an adult but I think a top class fireworks dispaly is one of them. Janet and Frank moved to prime position on the little bridge in front of the hotel, Janet pressed the big red button and we were then treated to a breathtaking dispaly which must have been visable from all over Ayrshire ! And then it was over....... I must admit that I miss those calls from Janet and hearing the excited tones in her voice as we plan out what we are going to be doing and talk about the different album options. However, I know now that Janet had the perfect wedding day, the album that she craved and most importantly now has the man of her dreams (oh and dont forget - absolutely stunning pictures like the one below !!!! )

Piersland House Wedding - Sonya and Craig

Piersland House Wedding

Sonya and Craig's Piersland House Wedding was a real 'family affair'. So much so that the entire wedding party was made up of the couples kids as bridesmaids and ushers. With Piersland being as close to the beach at Troon as it is, we slipped away for a few minutes to catch this fantastic shot. Although it looks wonderfully quite and dramatic I can assure you that the wind was whipping us so hard that neither Sonya or Craig could hear me instruct them on what to do next. It took me all my breath to yell "KISS" for this shot. Not quite as romantic as the image may portray but, at the end of the day, as long as we get the picture, everything else will be fine.

Cameron House Wedding - Joanne and Calum

Cameron House Wedding

What an absolutely fabulous day we had shooting Joanne and Calum's Cameron House wedding. It was a stunning day with the sun and loads of smiling faces out in force.  Joanne is a Nursery and a Dance teacher and all her kids had come out to greet her at St Marys Church in Kirkintilloch. We even had a cheerleaders 'guard of honor' waiting outside the church for when the bride and groom had walked down the aisle. Once we left this magnificent church we headed straight to the bandstand in Kirkintillochs Peel Park. This was something that was important to Joanne and somewhere she had always wanted to have her wedding pictures taken. To be honest I was a little concerened about the extra time it would add to the day but thought it too good an oppertunity to miss.

I am so glad that we did. The shots at the bandstand were incredible and since the wedding have featured in many magazine articles and featured on the front page of the Scottish Wedding Directory. Not bad for a 10 minute detour to the local park. Besides I need not have worried about time...........especailly as the wedding car decided it needed a rest between the park and the Cameron House wedding reception. Adding this unfortuate incedent to Easter Holiday Loch Lomond traffic and it was a good 45 minutes late that the bride and groom eventually arrive - in the back of a Pergeot 406 !!
However a mixture of our speedy skills and Cameron Houses professionalism meant that we were soon back on track with the time. We even managed a cheeky little evening shot as the sun set and the sky turned pink. Above all else however I should stress what an absolutely fantastic couple Joanne and Calum are. Despite the hiccups with the transport nothing dented their good humour. Nothing on the day was too much bother for them and they were so freindly and so full of fun all day that I often felt more like a guest of the wedding that the offcial photographer. An absolutely outstanding couple.
