Mar Hall Wedding - Lisa Marie and George

Mar Hall Wedding - Lisa Marie and George

Our first Mar Hall wedding of the year ! Lisa Marie and George. These guys are totally my heroes - a couple of international helicopter pilots!

Such a brilliant couple, such a stunning venue.......... yet such terrible weather ! Despite the vagaries of the Scottish climate putting paid to 'Plan A' we quickly put 'Plan B' into action and Lisa and George worked with us to produce some wonderful wedding shots. Luckily Mar Hall is a stunning building and the decision to move the marquee and give the wedding party a Clydeside view has been a masterstroke (especially when the Waverly steams past!)

The umbrella shot (centre) pretty much sums up the entire Scottish summer as far as wedding photography is concerned for 2012!

Lisa Maire had asked us to stay on and capture the evening celebrations. After some touching and humours speeches it was onto the dance floor for the couple. After that the guest were then invited out to release some Chinese lanterns into the night sky. Thankfully the weather relented in the evening to allow us a wonderful evening display.

The Scottish Summer

With the wedding season in full swing it was a welcome relief to have a wedding on my doorstep. Jacqueline and Jonathan got married at St Kessogs in Balloch before heading to Cameron House for their reception.

One of the main factors in these guys choosing Cameron House for their venue, was the stunning scenery. And who could blame them? The Loch, The Ben, the greenery stretching out across one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland ...... and (unfortunately) all hidden under blanket of rain on the day!

Thankfully, not only is Cameron House a great venue, regardless of the weather, but I also had two of the most affable people I have ever met in my life to photograph. Both Jacqueline and Jonathan were calm, gracious and in great spirits all day.  (In the shot below the rain was bouncing so hard off the water, a mist cloud started to rise)

A really first class couple. The only downside is that as they live down south, I wont see them that often.
