Elspeth and Andrew

First big wedding of the year and we certainly started with some style.

Andy and Elspeth tied the knot at Luss Church before receiving their guests at Cameron House. We managed to catch up with the couple at Cameron House as they were getting ready before they headed for the church. As you can see Andy made his way to the church by speedboat. You may also notice Andy is painfully shy........

Elspeth on the other hand looked absolutely gorgeous with a very stylish dress and (warm) stole.

With two lovely families and a great sense of fun throughout the day we managed to capture some brilliant shots, the perfect way to launch the 2009 campaign. Complete with a belting first waltz, you could say I had 'the time of my life' at their wedding.

Advertising for 2009 ?

This was sent to me by Paul who reckons one of these 'dudes' bears an uncanny resemblance to yours truly. I cant make up my mind if this is a compliment or an insult........

Bryan and Morven

The final wedding we shot in 2008 and what a smashing day it was too.

Things could have got off to a smoother start right enough..... both bride and groom committed the cardinal sin of arriving late at Park Circus. As you can see the only 'before' shots of the bride and groom are slightly rushed !! After the ceremony however the rest of the day was excellent with the wedding party heading to One Devonshire Gardens for the reception. I have to say I am always impressed with the service and attention you get from this venue - simply outstanding. Less outstanding was the photographers request to get everyone outside for a mass group photo - this went down like a lead balloon as everyone knew how cold it was. But fair play to the guests, they all made the effort to get the shot for Bryan and Morven.

All in all with the excellent venue, great crowd of people and just a lovely couple - it was the ideal way to top off 2008 for 1500 Photography !!

More from Lee-Ann and Kierans Wedding

I haven't really covered Lee-Ann and Kierans wedding in the blog as it took place towards the end of the year. We started off at Our Lady of Lourdes we then travelled up to Glenskirlie Castle for the reception. When we got to Glenskirlie the light began to fade fast but as we took a couple of shots on the 'love seat' at the back of the gardens Gillian spotted the dramatic skyline where the sun had just set. The slope up the little hill side was soft and muddy but Lee-Ann was very keen to get this shot. So we managed to negotiate a path for Lee-Ann and Kieran to make their way and as you can see from the result below we were rewarded with a stunning image (our shot of the year)

Since you have already seen some of the best images from the wedding I thought I would post a couple of 'different' shots that I really like. Shot 1 I love how the little boy is rocking back on his heels at being introduced to the flower girl, shot 2 was leaving the church after a quick photo session on the alter and the geusts bus had just pulled away and shots no3 and 4 were taken about 1 second apart - its just to let you see the guest 'paparazzi'

You will see more of Lee-Ann and Kierans wedding soon as I have taken a shot from their wedding to be used as our advert in the Real Life Weddings magazine. Its a bit different so watch this space for an update.

181

Honourable mentions go to Paul & Nicola and Donna & Thomas who tied for 4th

Well done to the Lee Ann and Kieran who will not only receive a small gift in recognition of becoming the inaugural winners of 1500 Photography Wedding Shot of the Year.

They will also become the new front page image to our website. Thank you to everyone who voted. I have been overwhelmed at the response, I had no idea my wee poll would create such interest. In the end 292 votes were cast. When you consider that the voting system counted each ISP address and stopped multiple votes from the same computer it just goes to show how much interest there was.

I'd also like to make another big thank you to all my brides and grooms of 2008. This business wouldn't have been here without you guys, I am extremely grateful to you all - including those who didn't feature in the poll. You have really helped get the business off to a flyer and I wont ever forget you or your weddings.

Thank you all - Stuart
