Dalmeny Park Outdoor Wedding - Samantha and Euan

Dalmeny Park Outdoor Wedding

Our next wedding took us over to Refrewshire for Samantha and Euan's Dalmeny Park Outdoor Wedding.

Isnt this almost every brides dream? A sun soaked day, getting married on the lawn of a fabulous hotel, then a light summer garden party feel to your reception? Then you'll notice just how beautiful the bride looks, how handsome the groom is, how nice the guests are...........and you'll see that it is also a photographers dream too!

As always our shots started out at Samantha's parents house in Alexandria before we made our way over to Dalmeny Park. Despite another little transport hiccup (sadly a recurring theme for 2013) Samantha arrived looking truly wonderful and I am sure the guests didn't mind a little extra sunbathing and drinking time! As usual the Rev Ian Miller was on hand to perfectly hit the balance between fun and sincerity with his ceremony. I have shot so many weddings alongside Ian now that I actually have a great rapport with the minister, who even makes sure that I get a great picture during the ceremony ! With time being a slightly pressing matter now, we ensured the groups were taken care of with maximum efficiency and that the timings of the day, especially for dinner, got back on track. Importantly though we didn't rush - we just kept the pace brisk and hopefully no one really noticed that we were working flat out. In some ways it worked a little to our advantage as, after dinner, we finally got 15 minutes alone with just the bride and groom to get 'their/our' pictures done. However I would like Samantha to have the last word on her wedding day experience with 1500 Photography

I don’t know how Euan and I along with both our families can ever thank you enough for all of your amazing support on our big day.  From the moment we met you we knew we were dealing with a complete professional and you continued to go above and beyond our expectations.  Both of you were extremely kind and helpful with guests commenting on how professional you were.  Thank you so much again from the bottom of our hearts as on our day you got your job done whilst treating us like good friends, rather than just paying customers and we appreciate it so much.

Dalmeny Park Wedding - Pamela and Steve

Dalmeny Park Wedding

I used to shoot loads of weddings at Dalmeny Park when I worked over in Paisley, so it was a great pleasure to go back for Pamela and Steve's wedding earlier in the summer. As a photographer in Scotland trying to keep up with the vagaries of the Scottish climate can drive you insane.....and this day was no exception. Fair play to Pamela and Steve though. When the rain did come the couple simply brushed it off and continued with the shots as if nothing had happened.

The black and white shot above was Steve's idea. He thought it were possible to see both him nervously waiting and Pamela arriving - and he was right. The rain put paid to our plans of doing a full group of everyone so instead we shot all Pamela's family, all Steve's family and finally all of their friends. This meant everyone was captured, no one was missed out and we had a record of everyone at the wedding.

Paisley Abbey Wedding - Leanne & Robert (Dalmeny Park)

I was pretty sure I was going to have fun at Robert and Leanne's wedding, and I wasn't disappointed. A great couple, stunning weather, patient and friendly families, super locations and a beautiful dress.  I really couldn't go wrong.

Leanne looked so beautiful and has such a great personality that photographing her and Robert (who scrubs up pretty well in a kilt) was an absolute joy from start to finish. As per usual with a 1500 wedding we started at the house capturing all the chaos & calm of the bride getting ready before moving onto Paisley Abbey.

The Abbey really is one of the best venues in Scotland for a wedding, it is simply breath-taking inside.

After the ceremony we returned to the Dalmeny Park Country House Hotel. Again, a venue which I am very familiar with from my Paisley days and again a venue which has plenty of scope for great photography. As the guests mingled and soaked up the sunshine (and champagne), Robert and Leanne help me create some amazing images.

Due to the fact that Leanne originally booked her wedding with 1500 for the wrong date (2008 instead of 2009) I had been looking forward to their wedding for a very long time. I am so glad that when it did come around it was such an excellent day in every way. I really love these guys and I am so proud if their pictures.

Incidentally Leanne's dress was obtained from Juliettes in Paisley. Having previously met with Margret I have been a big fan of this supplier and highly recommend them. After all the fuss lately over dress shops it is good to see someone who really cares about what the bride will wear, rather than just wanting to make commission on a sale.
