Wedding Photography at Piersland House, Troon. Colin & Gemma

I have been looking forward to shooting a wedding down in Troon for ages and I finally got my wish with Colin and Gemma's wedding at Piersland House.

We started the day at Gemma's parents house to get the 'finishing touches' shots before heading to Portland parish church for the ceremony. On leaving the house, teacher Gemma was delighted to see lots of her pupils had come out to wave her off and wish her luck, it was the first of many lovely touches throughout the day.

After the ceremony the church officer got everyone a drink of water during the siging of the register and when I jokingly asked for a coffee he came back seconds later with a steaming mug - black, two sugars - Brilliant !

We then headed onto the beach before making our way back to Piersland, which looks fantastic after its refrub. It was  such a superb day and the brilliant weather and 1st class hotel meant that we came away with some really cool shots. Colin and Gemma were great fun on the day and after planning a Troon wedding for years I wasnt disappointed to finally get onto the sand. A top day. Troon beach wedding by 1500 Photography

Wedding at the Glasshouse, Edinburgh - Rachel & Mark

We were delighted to shoot a wedding at the Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh with Rachel and Mark.

This was our first trip to this stunning hotel right in the very centre of the city.

We got some terrific shots of Rachel & Mark on the lovely rooftop garden, in the low winter sun. Rachel looked absolutely stunning and her getting ready pictures are just beautiful. Mark also cut a dash in his suit, which I have to confess, I think I prefer photographing over a kilt.

Sacrilege for a Scotsman perhaps but it least it gives the guys something to do with their hands !!

With the couples 3 young kids  and so many friends and family from all over the world there was a really close family feel to the wedding. I am grateful to Rachel & Mark and their family for all their patience and co-operation on the day.

Thank you

Portraits - Hamilton Portraits

Here is an odd wee story for you.

The last sitting I shot (Little Jack) had his pictures taken in Paisley at his grans house for convenience, even though he lives in Hamilton.  Jacks mum then recommended me to her next door neighbour. So, I travelled out to the very outskirts of Hamilton, almost 30 miles and an hour away, only to be met by someone I went to school with. In fact her best friend and my best friend were an item at high school. I don't think we had seen each other since we were both about 15.....small world, as they say.

Anyway, back to the pictures. And as you can see once again we came up trumps shooting young kids in their own environment. We started off baby Katherine's pictures with her in her party dress, before a few nappy shots in between a change of outfit. She was a lovely little girl but boy was she mobile.

Our next sitting was also in the Hamilton area but fortunately not too far away. ...........In fact it was next door.

Portraits in Paisley & Hamilton

Our next sitting was little Jack. He was an amazing baby to photograph. So much so that he now graces the front page of our revamped 1500.com site !

Jack was 5 months old at the time we took these shots - the perfect age (in my opinion) for baby pictures, is anywhere from 3-6 months.  At this age, although still a baby, they can usually support themselves, have formed a wee personality and have recognisable features that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

You don't know Jack but I suspect you can already get a sense of his personality from the shots above.

Jacks mum then recommended us onto 3 of her friends to have their babies photographed too and as a wee thank you received a framed 12x10 as a token of our appreciation.  I'll post up the 3 sittings soon.

Potraits at Home – Paisley, Glasgow and Hamilton

Next we were off to Paisley again to photograph some regular clients (or their kids at least).

Over the last few years I have taken family pictures when every new arrival reaches 2 months old.

It seems like only yesterday I took pictures of their eldest daughter Lauren when she was that age. Now with the latest addition to the family, James, having his picture taken at the same age, its amazing to see how quickly they change in such a short time. A good reminder of how important it is to regularly photograph children as they grow.

Now that the family is complete I wonder if I will be able to persuade mum and dad to come into the shots...?

Potraits at Home - Paisley, Dunbartonshire,Glasgow and Hamilton

Next up was Andrew and Anya. Two wee smashers who we photographed in the comfort of their own home. Again having everything to hand in the house means we can catch the kids drawing and playing, then wellies on, playing in the rain then back inside for party dresses.  All trauma free and easy for you without the hassle of travelling back and forth to a studio.

With two such lovely little subject it would be hard to go wrong, but Andrew and Anya were fantastic fun. I think the kids enjoyed the sitting too and I know mum and dad were happy but the main objective of this sitting was to provide gifts for the grandparents.

We provide free online galleries to all out clients to help show off their images to friends and family.
