VOWS Awards 2014 - 1500 Photography Nominated
I am surprised, proud and delighted to announce that 1500 Photography has, for the second year running, been nominated for a VOWS award.
Now in their tenth year, The Scottish VOWS Awards celebrate and promote excellence in customer service within the Scottish wedding industry. This award recognise companies who strive to provide outstanding service and deliver consistently high standards of consumer experience. To be thought of, by our clients, as a company worthy of this kind of acclaim is humbling and rewarding. I can only thank my wonderful brides and grooms from the last 12 months who not only took the time to fill out a form and vote for us but who also must have enthused about us so much that it impressed the judges. The awards themselves are on the 24th November. I will keep you posted. Thank you so much to all our clients. We are completely blown away.

Wedding at Cameron House - Anthony and Jenna
Wedding at Cameron House
Jenna and Anthony's Wedding at Cameron House was a first for me. Not the venues, I know both the hotel and Luss Church really well, but the party at night was something I'll never forget. It was a real mixture with a full on Greek celebration, Jenna's Dad picking up the guitar and singing brilliantly, live rapping and all the usual trappings of a Greek wedding. It was an amazing nights entertainment.
As we often do we started at Cameron House and caught some fantastic shots of Jenna getting ready. Then (a little behind schedule) it was onto the wonderful Luss Church. Possibly the prettiest churchs in Scotland with the shore of Loch Lomond just about 100 yards away.
Then we got back to Cameron House stopping for that iconic shot at the front door and then down to the Lomond suite which had been transformed with a sparkly dance floor and mood lighting.
It was after dinner and the speeches however that the party really got started. I have never witnessed a Greek celebration before and watch to Anthony bust some incredible high kicks on the dance floor was great. Then the couple had the tradition of dancing while the guests pin money to them. It was an awesome event and a great day to be a part of. If you ever get the chance to go to a Greek wedding - do it! Brilliant fun. See more from our Cameron House Wedding collection here

Knockderry House Wedding- Carole and Daniel
Knockderry House Wedding
This Knockderry House Wedding has possibly the most romantic 'getting together' story you will ever hear. Carole (from Australia) met Daniel (from Germany) halfway up Ben Nevis.
In Caroles words.......
It was definitely not love at first sight! At first sight, we could hardly see what each other looked like since we were at the top of Ben Nevis in -13°C and so were both rather wrapped up and it was just too cold for chit-chat. Plus, I thought Daniel was a bit of an idiot for not having brought gloves to climb Nevis, though was quite amused that he did pack a can of Tennants lager instead. That said, we climbed down to the bottom together and by the time we had got to the end of the hike, I’d warmed to Daniel quite a lot. Enough to accept his invitation to visit him in Germany and by the end of that visit, I knew he was something more than special.
One of the warmest couples Ive met and a wedding absolutely packed with emotion and love towards the couple. It really was a privilage to be a part of such a wonderful day.

Brig O'Doon Wedding - Bryan and Freya
Brig O'Doon Wedding
What another fabulous day we had at Bryan and Freya's Brig O'Doon Wedding. Again, as was a theme for a lot of 2013 most of the wedding was organised by the groom (or "Groomzilla" as Bryan was affectionately tagged by Freya). But to give the man his due, he did a fantastic job ! We started the day at the lovely Ayrs and Graces guest house right next to Brig O'Doon before making the short journey across the river. Freya looked absolutely stunning. A beautiful woman in a well chosen tasteful dress always makes my life so much easier. Add to that Bryan looked every inch the proud Scotsman in his kilt and I knew I would going to produce a cracking set of images.
We also had the pleasure of being present for the evening entertainment. Not only did that mean that the speeches and first dance were covered but this also allowed us a little bit of extra creativity with some night-time shots in the gardens. First with the bandstand resplendent in fairy lights then with a spectacular fireworks cascade courtesy of 21cc Fireworks.
I also have to say that the couple themselves were brilliant to work with. They were amazing in front of the lens and I am really grateful that they chose 1500 Photography.
I will leave the final words to Groomzilla himself, Bryan.
“From the moment of initial email contact, to the day we received our album in the post, Stuarts service and professionalism was second to none. Freya and I loved the way he interacted with our guests on the day. The photos we have are fantastic, you really did capture some amazing shots that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. A truly fantastic photographer and the only one I would recommend to future bride and grooms!”
