Brisbane Hotel Wedding - Tanya and Chris

Brisbane Hotel Wedding - Tanya and Chris

This was our second visit to Largs for a Brisbane Hotel Wedding, this time with top couple Tanya and Chris.

Not only are Chris and Tanya friends of friends but their wedding party also contained a couple who's wedding we are shooting next year (so that is 3 couple keeping a keen eye on me). The pressure was definitely on. Our day started off Tanya's finishing touches at her Grans house before we made our way down to Largs and to the church for a blessing only and then back to the Brisbane for a civil ceremony. Chris joked this was simply so that Tanyas couple walk down the aisle twice in one day. '

We also had a responsibility to pull off a slightly tricky shot yet very important shot. Tanya's grandfather was a pilot on the Largs ferry so it was really important to make sure the ferry featured in the pictures along with Tanya and Chris. With the rare sight of some blazing sun to contend with and pretty much every man and their dog walking along Largs beach front, it was a tricky shot indeed to get right. However I am glad to report that on all aspects of the photography - the day was a complete success.

Wedding at the Buchanan Arms, Drymen - Joanna & Stuart

Wedding at the Buchanan Arms, Drymen

Our next wedding at the Buchanan Arms, Drymen was for  Joanna & Stuart. Another wedding where the bridesmaid from another wedding has become the bride.

The very beautiful Joanna was bridesmaid to her sister Lyndsay a few years ago and the family kept us in mind when Joanna decided to marry Stewart. The guys had a terrific ceremony in Kirkintilloch conducted by previous groom Andrew (Lyndsay's husband)

Then we made our way to Drymen and the Buchanan Arms Hotel. Once there we had not only the stunning view of Loch Lomond from the top of the hill but also some rather nice long grass.

The only tricky part to the photography was trying to get Jo to keep a straight face for more than 3 seconds!!

It was a great fun wedding with lots of familiar faces which made the day such a pleasure to be part of....... and we had a wee bit of luck with the weather. As they say, the sun shines on the righteous !!

Mar Hall Wedding - Lisa Marie and George

Mar Hall Wedding - Lisa Marie and George

Our first Mar Hall wedding of the year ! Lisa Marie and George. These guys are totally my heroes - a couple of international helicopter pilots!

Such a brilliant couple, such a stunning venue.......... yet such terrible weather ! Despite the vagaries of the Scottish climate putting paid to 'Plan A' we quickly put 'Plan B' into action and Lisa and George worked with us to produce some wonderful wedding shots. Luckily Mar Hall is a stunning building and the decision to move the marquee and give the wedding party a Clydeside view has been a masterstroke (especially when the Waverly steams past!)

The umbrella shot (centre) pretty much sums up the entire Scottish summer as far as wedding photography is concerned for 2012!

Lisa Maire had asked us to stay on and capture the evening celebrations. After some touching and humours speeches it was onto the dance floor for the couple. After that the guest were then invited out to release some Chinese lanterns into the night sky. Thankfully the weather relented in the evening to allow us a wonderful evening display.

Rosslea Hall Wedding - Philip and Carrie

Rosslea Hall Wedding - Carrie and Phillip

Phillip and Carries Rosslea Hall wedding is one I will remember for a long time -  These guys were great fun to shoot. We started off in the extremely photogenic Clyde Bar in Helensburgh before making our way over to Rosslea for Carries finishing touches pictures. Then after the wedding ceremony the entire wedding party walked back across to Rosslea where a nice great bunch of guests made the rest of the days photography a real joy. And doesnt Carrie look wonderful? This was our first wedding of the year at Rosslea Hall and it was a real pleasure to work there. I know the couple were extremely happy with the service they recived and, from a photographers point of view, it is a great venue with lots of intresting little areas to play with.

Here is what the couple had to say about their experience with 1500 Photography (see more of our testimonials here)
"'All little girls dream of their wedding day and, after the dress, the photography is one of the most important parts. All I wanted was one good shot on our wedding day; 1500 gave us hundreds of fantastic shots and memories besides. We were blown away. Stuart has amazing vision. He captured all of the love, the laughter and the fun. When we show our family and friends the photographs, the tears of joy and emotion are testament to Stuart's craft. A truly remarkable professional." - Philip & Carrie

A Cruin Wedding, Loch Lomond - Kirsty and Kelvin

A Cruin Wedding, Loch Lomond - Kirsty and Kelvin

Kirsty and Kelvins lovely summery Cruin wedding, Loch Lomond has already popped up a few times on the blog already and been featured on the We Fell in Love Scottish wedding blog. However here it is again in all its glory. What you possibly already knew was that Kelvin is a marine and Kirsty was a little late (see Rev Ian Miller picture) however you may not have seen the bouncy castle, vintage bus (with real vintage bus tickets!) and the fantastic acid coloured wedding cake, complete with mini Kirsty (Barbie) and mini Kelvin (Action Man)

It was such a lovely day. When the sun comes out on Loch Lomond it really is hard to beat for scenery and atmosphere. The final word on the day goes to Kirsty who has great advice for all brides and grooms to be -

"Just relax don’t worry about all the small things they don’t matter on the day… remember why you are doing it." and when it comes to the pictures

"Thank you so much for being really great it was such a great experience and your work was fantastic! I can't thank you enough or be more happy with my album and photos"

Moorpark House Wedding - Clair and Craig

Moorpark House Wedding with Clair & Craig

I love shooting weddings at Moorpark House and despite a few sunny showers Craig and Clairs shots are among some of my favourites of the year. Craig was the best man at one of our favourite weddings last year and the bride and groom from that wedding at House for an Art Lover, Amanda and Stewart, were also present. This time with Amanda taking on the Bridesmaid role and Stewart returning the favour as Best Man for his brother.

Clair is a makeup artist herself and she looked absolutely immaculate. Perfect make-up, perfect hair and a stunning dress. Moorpark is fast becoming one of my favourite venues with its relaxed, professional approach, great grounds and exclusivity for wedding parties.

What was also really nice about this wedding was the sense of goodwill and happiness all the guests had for the couple. There was a genuine warth within the wedding party and the guests towards the couple who are obviously well loved. It was a brilliant day and Craig and Stewarts awful banter even made some of my jokes look half decent. It was also fantatstic to see Stewart and Amanda at the wedding again and meet their own addition to the family - little Theo.

Moorpark House Wedding - Jennifer and Gerard

Moorpark House Wedding - Jennifer and Gerard

Our Moorpark House wedding for Jennifer and Gerard was a great day. This time we started the day at Jennifer's folks house before making our way to St Gabriel's in Glasgow's south side. After that it was onto the excellent Moorpark House for some lovely pictures and (as we stayed for the evening part of the day) one of the busiest dance floor I have ever seen !
