Spot the Parkie !!

Congratulations to Robert and Kirsty. Married recently at the excellent Piping Centre (which is fast becoming one of my favorite venues) before heading off to the Bontanic Gardens for photographs……. at least that was the plan. On the day of the wedding large parts of our route was closed off due to the West End Festival.

Then at the park Stephen, the best man, realised that he had not remembered the permission slip and the Botanics didnt have Roberts and Kirstys wedding on their books. Thats when the ‘parkies’ descended upon us …..

Fortunately after meeting with the very understanding staff at the gardens, we continued our session, capturing some brilliant shots. Not only were Kirsty and Robert a really nice couple to work with, they also have a wicked sense of humour. So despite all the stress of running around Glasgow on a hot and busy day - the wedding was a great fun day, with a great fun couple.

All the best guys !

On the Board !!

At this years Scottish Master Photographer awards ceremony I was asked to join the committee of the MPA in Scotland.

I was delighted to accept (I’m told).

MPA members can ONLY be full time professional photographers. No weekend amateurs or part-time operatives are permitted and all members must have full professional indemnity insurance and public liability. This means that all of our clients have the protection of knowing that their photographer is a fully qualified professional who abides to strict codes of conduct. We also try to improve our own photographic knowledge by inviting guest speakers from all over the world to help us understand new techniques and methods.

My first input into the regions plans for this year is to try and persued a photographer I greatly admire to come and talk to us. Chris Blott. You may have seen his work in the fashion pages of the Sunday Herald or if you are a bride to be, in the Scottish Wedding Directory.

He is an awesome photographer, and one that I have been an avid fan of for many years. Check out his website here. Inspiring stuff. And best of all - he is Scottish.
